The name of “Miami” comes from an Indian word which wants to say “fresh water”. Indian Tequesta was established in the mouth of the river Miami. The zone is very rich in water because the river Miami is essentially a canal between Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean.

Miami is a city located at the south-east of Florida in the county of Miami-Dade on the Miami river. It’s the chief town and the largest city of the county of Miami-Dade. Although the city is not in itself very large, the metropolis of Miami includes many smalls surrounding cities.

Miami is considered as a town opened to the international trade and specially with Latin America today. The city is sometimes considered as the door of the United States towards Latin America.
The port of Miami is the port the most important for the transport of the passengers of cruise.

The tourism is a major source of incomes for the city which lives on its image of tropical paradise, notably with district of Miami Beach. Beyond its charming climate, its mixed culture and its international character return the attractive city.

Originally created as Ocean Beach in 1915, she changed name for Miami Beach in 1917.

Miami Beach has a rich history as a trend setting arts center, from the world famous nightclubs of the 50’s, to the rich cultural life of today’s modern South Beach. The City of Miami Beach has an identity that is intrinsically linked to the arts, and today our entertainment, production and arts communities are stronger than ever. Miami Beach is truly a major international entertainment and cultural destination.

The Dante B. Fascell Port is considered as the world capital of the cruises and a major center of transit the goods to Americas.

The port of Miami contributes in a important way to the economy of the country. On average, about four million passengers of cruise use it annually, more than nine million tons of load and more than a million containers pass in transit by the seaport.

This combination of activities of cruise and transportation of goods generates approximately 98 000 jobs, and has an economic impact in the county of Miami-Dade for more than 12 billions dollars.
To maintain its level, a program of 250 million dollar development was opened to adapt infrastructures to the changeable demands of the operators, the passengers, the senders and the carriers.

Junior Orange Bowl Parade

The Junior Orange Bowl Parade is a diverse mix of lively floats, giant inflatable balloons, energetic youth groups, community groups and an assortment of marching bands from around the country. The Junior Orange Bowl Parade is sure to delight the thousands of onlookers that converge every year to witness the sights and sounds of this cherished tradition. People of all ages will be spellbound as this amazing Parade. It all begins in front of Coral Gables City Hall and travels down Miracle Mile. Watching this spectacular Parade is free, however, premium seating is also available through the Junior Orange Bowl Committee Office.

My trip

During the winter’s holiday, I’m going to Florida, to play trumpet. I’ll take off the 26th of december to the USA. There, I’ll do lots of activity as visite attraction parks, do shopping and play trumpet off course… We are a great band, so I think that we’ll have fun…
